Editorial standards

Evidence before certainty.

Our labels tell readers what we know, how we know it, and what remains untested.

Evidence labels

  • Published specification: a manufacturer-stated dimension, feature, or limit, attributed as such.
  • Research-backed: a synthesis of authoritative educational sources and established principles.
  • Owner-reported pattern: a recurring experience reported by users, never presented as our direct result.
  • Hands-on measurement: a result we record under described conditions.
  • Testing planned: a claim or comparison we intend to measure but have not completed.

Testing roadmap

Commercial telescope coverage will record assembled and packed dimensions, weight, setup time, included components, mount vibration behavior, focusing and control usability, target acquisition, viewing position, observing conditions, and notable limitations. Accessory testing will use criteria appropriate to the task.

Rankings and compensation

Moon Express does not sell favorable placement or allow a commission rate to determine a conclusion. We will not call a product “best” without a defined use case, comparison set, and evidence. Products supplied for review will be disclosed.

Corrections and updates

Material corrections should identify what changed and why. Time-sensitive specifications and availability should be rechecked before commercial pages are refreshed. Readers can report issues at hello@moon.express.
